I purchased this mat to cover the area in my bedroom where I normally work out. My house has wooden floors throughout which makes it rather "loud." My goal was to find something that would fit the space, look good, and provide some sound-proofing. Two out of three isn't bad, I guess.Pros: Fits my 5x7 space perfectly without slipping on the wood floor, feels very durable, easy to brush off debris with dustpan and brush, and looks great. In this respect, it is much better than the memory foam anti-fatigue runner I was using.Cons: It Will show every little bit of dust and debris that one can track around a house so it is a good thing that it can be cleaned easily. It is not as quiet as I hoped it would be.Any sneakers or slippers with rubberized bottoms can be heard. The mat may dampen sounds heard in the basement to some degree, but I hear every footfall I make. It doesn't offer the same soundproofing as carpet or memory foam anti-fatigue mats. So much for hoping.Overall, it is a good workout mat with some limitations.
